Who We Are

Bob Wells is a marketing management consultant and advisor on US politics, policy, and international affairs.

With experience at senior levels of the White House and State Department and international business institutions, he has been involved with foreign policy and US and international corporate market strategies in the US, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas as a senior US naval officer and national security public policy professional.

Before establishing Bob Wells Associates, LLC, he specialized in Strategic Planning, Marketing Management and the development of “Go-to-Market” strategies, their associated value propositions and contact roadmaps geared to client growth strategies while a Consultant at WBB, Inc. in Reston, Virginia.

During his service in government, he was involved in the development and execution of U.S. foreign policy and national security priorities. He participated in the:

  • Transformation of U.S. bilateral relations with Nigeria, Liberia, Ethiopia, China and Japan;
  • Development of maritime security and homeland defense capabilities for the U.S. in a new National Maritime Strategy;
  • Diplomatically sensitive relations with Sudan and Somalia;
  • Development of regional energy security strategies between the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Gulf of Guinea; and,
  • Crisis management ranging from Darfur, Haiti and humanitarian and disaster assistance to Indonesia, Somalia, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Robert S. Wells - President & Principal Consultant

Born in Culver City, California and a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), the Naval Postgraduate School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Seminar XXI Program on Foreign Policy And National Security; Mr. Wells retired from the U.S. Navy as a Captain. His distinguished 30-year naval service career included two ship commands including the AEGIS cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG-57) during Operation Enduring Freedom in the aftermath of 911, and the guided missile frigate USS Lewis B. Puller (FFG-23).  He also served as the U.S. Naval Academy’s Director of Professional Development in Annapolis, Maryland.  During his career, Captain Wells was awarded 20 service medals including two Defense Superior Service medals and two Legions of Merit.

Bob has over 5 years of  White House, national security council experience in Bush 43/Clinton Administrations and as Special Advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney for national security (Defense/Africa/Western Hemisphere) provided direct support to the Vice President and his national security advisor for White House deliberations.

Mr. Wells is also a leader within the Veterans for Smart Power association and the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and is a Senior Advisor to DC International Advidory.
